India’s climate ambition is bold, urgent, and deeply strategic. As the nation accelerates its journey towards a net-zero economy, the scale of capital required—exceeding USD 2 trillion by 2030—demands new alliances, innovative finance, and global resolve.
Following the resounding success of the inaugural Forum in September 2024, this year’s edition of the India International Climate Finance Forum (IICFF) will return to London from 17–19 September 2025, co-hosted by the Climate and Energy Transition Finance Initiative (CETFI) and the London Stock Exchange, along with key institutional partners.
The Largest Global Dialogue on Investing in India’s Climate and Energy Transition
This second edition will be the largest gathering of its kind, uniquely focused on mobilising institutional and private capital for India’s climate and energy transition agenda. Over 300 global investors, 30+ Indian industry leaders, and senior government officials will participate in a curated three-day programme of dialogues, showcases, and investor roundtables.
New Focus Areas in 2025: Insurance & Foreign Exchange Risk
This year, the Forum will introduce two critical new sessions:
Climate Insurance & De-risking Instruments: Exploring how insurance products—from sovereign-level guarantees to parametric climate risk covers—can unlock capital for high-risk but high-impact investments in India and the Global South.
Foreign Exchange (FX) Risk Management for Climate Projects: Addressing one of the most persistent barriers for international investors, this session will present new instruments, facilities, and blended solutions to mitigate currency volatility in climate-aligned infrastructure.
These sessions aim to unlock billions in climate finance that are currently held back due to unmanaged risk and lack of scalable hedging mechanisms.
India’s Climate & Energy Transition Roadmap
India remains a global pacesetter in climate ambition, underpinned by bold targets and massive implementation efforts:
500 GW Renewable Energy by 2030
5 MMT Green Hydrogen Production per year
20% Ethanol Blending in Fuels
Ambitious expansion in biogas, e-mobility, sustainable agriculture, forestry, water systems, and more
These efforts represent not only an environmental imperative but also a multi-trillion-dollar economic opportunity across infrastructure, manufacturing, digitalisation, and services.
A Convergence of Policy, Projects, and Private Capital
The Forum serves as a unique platform where deals meet policy, projects meet capital, and emerging markets meet institutional investors. It will feature:
Investor presentations from Indian project developers
Interactive roundtables on thematic sectors (RE, hydrogen, mobility, water, waste)
Structuring labs for financial innovation and capital stack optimisation
Showcase of CETFI-Mark and CETFI-Register projects for bankability
CETFI: Bridging Ambition and Capital
Launched during India’s G20 presidency in 2023, CETFI continues to grow as a dynamic platform connecting emerging market priorities with global financial solutions. Through its CETFI-Mark certification and CETFI-Register platform, it is unlocking scale capital for projects that meet climate, social, and commercial thresholds.
In collaboration with the London Stock Exchange Group and leading financial actors, CETFI invites you to join this year’s Forum as we build the financial architecture for a greener, more resilient India—and a more investable Global South.
